Disclosure Day Streaming Guide: Peacock Release Date, Cast, Story & Where to Watch

Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day is heading home. After opening exclusively in theaters on June 12, 2026, the sci-fi mystery thriller makes its subscription-streaming debut exclusively on Peacock Friday, October 9, 2026.

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell, with Spielberg returning to the extraterrestrial mystery territory that has been a defining part of his filmmaking legacy.

For anyone searching for the Disclosure Day streaming release date, Peacock is the key destination. The film is already available to buy or rent digitally, but October 9 marks the major subscription-streaming arrival.

When Does Disclosure Day Start Streaming on Peacock?

Disclosure Day starts streaming on Peacock on Friday, October 9, 2026. Peacock's official movie page lists the film as "Streaming Only on Peacock Oct 9," making the date the definitive subscription-streaming launch.

That means that as of October 8, the movie has not yet reached its Peacock streaming debut. Viewers looking to watch it through a subscription service should be ready for the October 9 launch.

Peacock says the movie can be watched with either its Premium or Premium Plus plans. The current listed prices are $12.99 per month for Premium and $19.99 per month for Premium Plus, although subscription pricing can change.

Where Can You Watch Disclosure Day?

There are currently two main ways to watch Disclosure Day at home: subscription streaming on Peacock beginning October 9, or digital purchase/rental through home-entertainment platforms.

Is Disclosure Day on Netflix, Max or Hulu?

No. The announced subscription-streaming destination for Disclosure Day is Peacock. Peacock's official announcement describes the movie as streaming exclusively on the service beginning October 9.

That makes Peacock the service viewers should look to for the initial subscription-streaming window rather than Netflix, Max or Hulu.

Can You Buy or Rent Disclosure Day Online?

Yes. Disclosure Day is already available for home viewing through digital purchase and rental. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment lists the movie as "Watch at Home on Digital Now" and also lists 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD editions.

Digital availability is therefore separate from the Peacock subscription debut. If you want to watch the movie before October 9 without waiting for the Peacock launch, the digital home-release route is the available option.

What Is Disclosure Day About?

Disclosure Day is a sci-fi mystery thriller centered on the possibility that humanity is not alone. The story follows Margaret Fairchild, a meteorologist and reporter, and Dr. Daniel Kellner, a cybersecurity specialist, as they become caught up in a decades-long conspiracy surrounding extraterrestrial life.

Peacock's official synopsis describes a world where the truth about humanity's place in the universe is finally pushed into the open. The film revolves around the question of what would happen if irrefutable evidence that humanity was not alone could no longer be hidden.

Spielberg developed the story, while longtime collaborator David Koepp wrote the screenplay. The combination brings the movie back into the filmmaker's familiar territory of UFOs, government secrecy, ordinary people confronting extraordinary events and humanity's reaction to the unknown.

Who Directed Disclosure Day?

Steven Spielberg directed Disclosure Day and developed the original story. David Koepp wrote the screenplay, continuing a long creative relationship with Spielberg that includes Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.

The film also reunites Spielberg with cinematographer Janusz Kamiński, who has worked with the director on numerous major productions.

How Long Is Disclosure Day?

Disclosure Day has a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Peacock lists the film as a PG-13 sci-fi movie.

The lengthy runtime gives Spielberg room to build the mystery around the central disclosure event while following multiple characters and the wider implications of humanity discovering evidence of extraterrestrial life.

Disclosure Day Theatrical Release

The movie opened in U.S. theaters on June 12, 2026. Universal Pictures positioned it as an original event film rather than a sequel or established franchise entry.

Its theatrical run was followed by a digital home release, and now the film is moving into its Peacock subscription window approximately four months after its theatrical debut.

Is Disclosure Day Worth Watching?

For Spielberg fans, the appeal is obvious: Disclosure Day brings the director back to a subject closely associated with his filmography while giving the extraterrestrial mystery a contemporary setting involving journalism, cybersecurity and the public's demand for information.

The cast is another major draw. Emily Blunt leads a group that includes Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell, while Spielberg's long-running collaboration with Koepp adds another familiar creative connection.
