Rashid Khan's 4-Wicket Masterclass! Afghanistan Beat Bangladesh in UAE ODI Tri-Series 🔥

Afghanistan produced a commanding performance to defeat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the UAE ODI Tri-Series 2026 on October 21. After restricting Bangladesh to just 160 runs, Afghanistan completed the chase comfortably to claim an important tournament victory.

Bangladesh Struggle Against Afghanistan's Attack

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat, but their innings never developed into a substantial total. Afghanistan's bowling attack kept the pressure on, taking wickets and preventing Bangladesh from building the partnerships needed for a competitive score.

Parvez Hossain Emon provided the main resistance with 70 off 96 balls, striking five fours and two sixes. Saif Hassan contributed 41 from 82 deliveries, but Bangladesh lacked sufficient support around their leading scorers.

Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 160 in 41.2 overs, leaving Afghanistan a manageable target of 161.

Rashid Khan Leads the Bowling Destruction

Rashid Khan was the standout performer, finishing with 4 wickets for 31 runs. His spell was central to Afghanistan's control of the innings.

Yamin Ahmadzai and Azmatullah Omarzai also made important contributions with the ball, taking two wickets each as Bangladesh lost their batting momentum.

Afghanistan Complete a Comfortable Chase

Chasing 161, Afghanistan approached the target with confidence. The required run rate was within reach, and the team maintained control throughout the second innings.

Afghanistan reached the target with seven wickets remaining, finishing on 161/3 in 35.4 overs.

The victory highlighted the difference between the two sides on the day: Afghanistan's bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a modest score before their batting unit finished the job.

What the Result Means for the Tri-Series

The win gives Afghanistan valuable momentum in the UAE ODI Tri-Series, a competition featuring Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

With the tournament's final scheduled for October 23, every result carries significance in the race to finish among the top two teams.

Afghanistan will take confidence from a complete performance, while Zimbabwe will need a stronger batting response in their next outing.
