Australia 294/8: Renshaw Rescues the Innings

Australia elected to bat first and were immediately put under pressure. Travis Head fell early before Mitchell Marsh provided momentum with 36 from 28 balls.

Cooper Connolly then produced another valuable innings, scoring 51 from 46 balls and helping Australia recover from the early damage.

The defining contribution came from Matt Renshaw. Coming in at No. 6, he produced a magnificent 109 from 94 balls, including seven fours and three sixes.

Renshaw reached his maiden ODI century and carried Australia towards a competitive total despite Zimbabwe's bowlers continuing to take wickets at regular intervals.

Nyamhuri Takes Five But Australia Still Reach 294

Zimbabwe's Newman Nyamhuri was outstanding with the ball. The young left-arm seamer finished with 5/62 from nine overs, claiming his maiden ODI five-wicket haul.

Nyamhuri removed Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, Oliver Peake, Xavier Bartlett and eventually Renshaw, keeping Zimbabwe in the contest throughout Australia's innings.

Zimbabwe 235: Raza and Ervine Lead the Fightback

Zimbabwe's chase began with Australia applying pressure through the new ball, but the hosts refused to collapse immediately.

Craig Ervine played an important innings of 59 from 60 balls, while captain Sikandar Raza contributed 57 from 76 balls.

Their partnership gave Zimbabwe hope of chasing down the target, but Australia's bowling attack kept producing wickets whenever the hosts appeared ready to build serious momentum.

Nathan Ellis' Five-Wicket Haul Finishes the Job

Nathan Ellis was Australia's match-winning bowler. His spell of 5/31 from 9.1 overs destroyed Zimbabwe's lower order and ensured Australia could defend their total comfortably.

It was Ellis' first five-wicket haul in international cricket, making his performance one of the biggest individual highlights of the match.

Spencer Johnson also claimed a wicket, while Adam Zampa contributed with another important breakthrough as Zimbabwe eventually fell for 235.
