Travis Head Turns the Game Around
Head produced the innings Australia needed after a quiet opening match of the series. The left-hander attacked from the start and reached his half-century from only 32 balls before accelerating further.
He brought up his century from 75 deliveries, eventually finishing with 112 from 84 balls, including 15 fours and three sixes. It was Head's eighth ODI century and his first ODI hundred since the previous summer's Ashes.
Head's century was also the centrepiece of Australia's 130-run opening partnership with captain Mitchell Marsh, giving the visitors the platform to attack the final stages of the innings.
Mitchell Marsh Provides the Perfect Support
Mitchell Marsh played the ideal supporting role at the other end, scoring 53 from 63 balls. His innings contained three fours and three sixes as he helped Australia establish a strong platform during the opening half of the innings.
Marsh and Head's 130-run stand came from 114 deliveries and pushed Australia firmly into control before Zimbabwe finally made the breakthrough at 130.
Cooper Connolly Keeps Australia's Momentum Going
Cooper Connolly continued his impressive ODI run with another major contribution. The young left-hander made 78 from 69 balls, adding another 50-plus score to his recent sequence.
Connolly had already produced a 149 against Bangladesh before this series and scored 51 in the opening ODI against Zimbabwe. His 78 in Harare therefore became his third consecutive 50-plus ODI score.
Ollie Peake's Late Explosion Takes Australia Past 350
Australia finished the innings in spectacular fashion thanks to Ollie Peake. The 20-year-old smashed an unbeaten 41 from only 18 balls, clearing the boundary three times during a remarkable late cameo.
Australia added 101 runs during the final 10 overs, transforming an already strong total into 356/6. Brad Evans finished with three wickets for Zimbabwe, while Wellington Masakadza claimed two wickets.

Zimbabwe's Chase Starts Slowly
Zimbabwe needed 357 to win, but the hosts could manage only 41 runs during the opening powerplay without losing a wicket. The required rate continued to climb as Australia maintained pressure with the ball.
Zimbabwe did manage useful partnerships through the middle overs. Innocent Kaia and Brendan Taylor combined for a 50-run stand, while Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza attempted to keep the chase alive.
Zimbabwe reached 180/4 after 35 overs, but the growing asking rate left the hosts with little margin for error.
Five Wickets End Zimbabwe's Fight
Zimbabwe crossed 250 in the 45th over, but the chase collapsed during the closing stages. The hosts lost all five of their remaining wickets during the final powerplay and were eventually dismissed for 272 in 48.3 overs.
Australia therefore secured an 84-run victory and moved to a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Zimbabwe Bowling: Evans Leads the Attack
Brad Evans was Zimbabwe's leading wicket-taker with 3/86 from nine overs. Wellington Masakadza was the most economical of Zimbabwe's principal wicket-takers, returning 2/51 from nine overs.
Masakadza's spell briefly slowed Australia's scoring on a dry Harare surface, but Australia's late acceleration ultimately proved decisive.
Australia Go 2-0 Up
The result gives Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. After winning the opening match, Mitchell Marsh's side have now backed it up with another commanding performance in Harare.
